Shahan Natali - TELL ME

You went away,
oh, my heartless woman,
and took my sleep with you.
My bed is cold as a tomb,
and your absence
a tombstone on my chest…

You took my heart from my breast,
and left me with no sleep.
Tell me, Bella, how to live
heartless, sleepless
without dreams, tell me
Bella, how to live…

* * *

Yet I believe
the day may come,
your heart may beat with love
again, recalling our corner
under the myriad stars
of the Milky Way…

And just maybe
under your teardrops,
Bella, snow flowers may spring
from my tattered heart
each tiny petal bearing
a droplet of blood…
