In this forest of fear, once more
I come to face a fork in the road.
The last flame shimmers no more
And darkness reigns as before…
Like a burnt wick, my yesterday
Flickers a while and fades away.
Where does this road lead us all,
With twists and turns all the way?
Howling winds batter my chest,
Forests scold me in terse tones.
As I now wander in endless quest,
It all seems alien, beset with flaws.
Now, once again in hostile woods,
At this same fork on the road I stall,
My heart sinks as I must choose--
As a dying flame sears my soul….
